Jimmy Buffett & New Margaritaville impress VIP guests

Before the doors of the new Margaritaville Casino opened to the general public there was a special VIP party where guests were treated to a concert from Jimmy Buffett. A chance to see a live performance from the Mississippi native was enough to put parrot heads in paradise.

Cheryl Crant of Florida was excited about the concert. "Because we love Jimmy Buffet and we love Margaritaville. We're parrot heads," said Crant.

"It's wonderful. I love Jimmy Buffett," said Dorinda Magnuson of Ocean Springs. "It's wonderful. I mean there's so many people here. The music is great. It's just a great atmosphere."

As Buffett toasted the new Margaritaville Biloxi, some guests said they expect the newest addition to the coast casino market to serve up some big tourism dollars.

Waveland Alderman Mark Kidd said, "Another casino brings more people, more tourists and it's better for the whole community."

Some parrot heads traveled from hundreds of miles away to join this celebration and many of them said they're already planning a return trip to Biloxi.

"Oh, my gosh this is gorgeous. I would like to live here if they would let me," said Jim Catar of Lafayette. "I think we'll be here more often because we've got Jimmy in town and we've got the ambiance that we love to party with and Jimmy knows how to put on a good party."

Cheryl Crant said, "This is a great facility. We're having a ball. We'll definitely be back. "

Officials said 3,000 people sent in their RSVP for the Margaritaville launch party.
